What is a FAQ?
FAQ stands for Frequently Asked Questions. The list of frequently asked questions with answers is called 'the FAQ list', or 'the FAQ' for short. You can pronounce it as separate letters ('eff ay cue'), or as one word ('fack').
I have only 1 important question, how can I be sure you don't have any viruses in your programs, since you also publish virus-code?
If I had to spread viruses, I wouldn't be publishing the source code for them on this site. I publish the source code for educational purposes only. None of the viruses on this site are destructive. They do not format your hard-disk or delete files or anything like that. You'll find that out once you go through the source code. If you still think you're not safe, you can download these applications from 3rd party sites like Download.com. They scan all the files to ensure that they are virus free.

I am a webmaster and would like to include your software in our website. What do I need to do?
Nothing! Just add the program to your website. Be sure to include a link to the software homepage. I also recommend that you point the download link to this website. This way, the users will always have the latest version of the software available. If you include the software on your website, please send me a message with a link of that page.
I have downloaded the .MSI files, but how do I install them?
MSI are Microsoft Installer Files. To install the programs, you must have Windows Installer Installed on your machine. It comes installed by default on Windows 2000 and Windows ME. If it is not installed on your machine, you can download it from the Downloads Section. After you have installed it, you can double click on a .MSI to install the applications.
I'm trying to install an update but when I run the installer, it asks me to repair or remove the previous version. What should I do?
To install an update, you must first uninstall the previous version. Select the option to "remove" the previous version. After the software has been uninstalled, run the Installer for the updated version again. This time it will allow you to install the updated version.

API Monitor

The Event Pane in API Monitor doesn't display anything. I can see that the Message Pane is monitoring running processes.
This problem is known to occur on Windows 98 Chinese Operating Systems. I'm still working on a solution to this problem. If you find this problem on any other operating system, please use the Product Support form to submit information.
I'm trying to use API Monitor on a console-mode application that starts and quits 2 seconds later. I don't know the PID in advance and there is no way of pausing it. Any Ideas?
You can use the "Load Process" command from the Capture menu to monitor the console-mode application. You should be able to see a complete list of API's called by the applications. Please note that this command is enabled only when a capture is in progress. Have a look at this Snapshot.
I tried to monitor a process using the Monitor Process / NT Service dialog box under the Capture menu and I got two error messages saying "Injector.exe is linked to missing Export KERNEL32.DLL:VirtualAllocEx" and "Failed to load process". Am I missing some files?
This was a bug in Version 1.3 of API Monitor on Windows 95. It has been fixed in Version 1.31. Please download the new version.
I need to spy on a Win16 program running on my Win98. Any advice for me?
API Monitor currently doesn't support monitoring of Win16 programs. This may be implemented in future releases.

Boss!

When I drag the magnifying glass over the title, nothing happens other than the magnifying glass springing back to its original position; how come?
This has been fixed in Version 1.1. Please download the latest version.
I have 2 lines in my BOSS.INI file which look like this:
   calculator
   Internet Explorer
When I hit the escape key, only Internet Explorer hides, Calculator does not, regardless of the order in which I have them listed. What am I doing wrong?
This is due to the fact that all program names in BOSS.INI are Case-Sensitive. This means that calculator and Calculator are different. Capitalize the first letter of calculator and Boss! should work fine after that.

FreeVoice

I've downloaded FreeVoice, but I can't get the program to work at all. Can you help me?
This is due to the fact that FreeVoice requires a couple of other components to work. Make sure you have downloaded atleast the following two components Microsoft Agent 2.0 At least 1 Character from the Character Gallery
When I run the FreeVoice exe file I get an error. It says The FREEVOICE.EXE file is linked to missing export KERNEL32.DLL:SetWaitableTimer.
This has been fixed in FreeVoice 1.2. Please download the latest version.
